Let’s first address the question: Why take a golf lesson?

If you wanted to learn how to fly an airplane, would you grab the manual and try to fly the airplane into the blue without an instructor?  Good luck!

No one needs a lesson unless you are interested in enjoying the game of golf…otherwise known as “The pursuit of happiness”.  With the help of a knowledgeable golf instructor as your copilot, you will be able to develop a proper and effective golf swing.  Otherwise, you will continue to practice very hard to perfect your golf swing errors that you might have developed. 

Now the question: “Why take an indoor video lesson?”

When taking a lesson out on the driving range you have to be prepared for inclement weather, lack of privacy, and swinging a lot as the instructor tries to analyze your swing errors.  In the Pacific Northwest, we frequently have to deal with inclement weather conditions.  An indoor golf facility solves the weather problem, but you won’t be able to see the ball flight.  Therefore, an indoor teaching center relies on electronic swing detection analyzers to capture and project key swing data such as swing path, face angle, club head speed, carry distance, etc.   In addition, Video cameras capture your swing from different directions.  After a few swings, there’s sufficient data so that both you and the instructor can see the stop action video and sensor analysis of your various swing problems.  Using video is a quick and efficient method to identify the root swing problems.  Once you know what to work on with a couple of drills to use you can practice hitting balls out on the driving range on your own time with the correct information so as to correct your swing problems.
